Clarity Chat™ Quick Start Guide Download

Changing the Batteries Step:1 Gently pull open the battery door with your fingernail.

Changing the Batteries Step:2 Get a new battery and peel off the plastic tab.

Changing the Batteries Step:3 The cleaning tool has a magnetic tip used for picking up the batteries and placing them in the battery door.

Changing the Batteries Step:4 Insert the new battery into the battery compartment with the (+) sign or tab side of the battery facing up (you should still be able to see the (+) sign after battery has been inserted). Wait 1-2 minutes before closing the battery door to allow the battery to fully charge.

Changing the Batteries Step:5 Close the battery door and your Clarity Chat is now on.

Tubing Step:1 Grasp the end of the thin tube that is attached to the receiver.

Tubing Step:2 Gently turn approximately 90 degrees.

Tubing Step:3 Pull to remove the tubing from the receiver.

Tubing Step:4 Line up the end of the tubing vertically with the receiver and press the tubing back onto the receiver until it snaps into place.

Troubleshooting your Clarity Chat™ There are 2 probable issues that will cause you to believe your Clarity Chat isn’t working properly: ear wax and low batteries.
Wax: See "How To Clean My Clarity Chat™" for cleaning instructions. If wax buildup is in ear, please seek help from a doctor.
Low Battery: See "How Do I Change Batteries" for battery installation instructions. Turn off when not in use to maximize battery life.

Troubleshooting your Clarity Chat™ HUMIDITY Other issues may be a result of humidity exposure. Humidity build up on the internal parts can cause the device to go dead or temporarily malfunction. If your device has been exposed to high humidity, remove it and open the battery door to let dry naturally.

Troubleshooting your Clarity Chat™ WHY IS MY CLARITY CHAT WHISTLING? Whistling without a tube on indicates your device is working properly. The main fix for whistling is to lower your volume 1-2 levels or reapply your Clarity Chat to your ear ensuring the dome is completely in the ear canal. Wearing Your Clarity Chat™ Step:1 Hold the thin tube between your thumb and index finger. The dome tip opening should be pointing in towards your ear canal. Look for the colored number/letter combination on the tubing (RED=RIGHT EAR, BLUE=LEFT EAR).

If you are unable to see the red and blue letter/number combination on the tubing, hold up your Clarity Chat with the tubing and dome attached as illustrated.

Wearing Your Clarity Chat™ Step:2 Place your Clarity Chat over the top of your ear until it rests securely behind the ear.

Wearing Your Clarity Chat™ Step:3 While holding the Clarity Chat in place, insert the dome tip into your ear canal, and curl/tuck the retention loop along the body of your ear. The dome tip should be completely, or almost completely, in the ear canal. Proper inser tion of the dome tip will ensure you are getting enough amplification out of the receiver and help avoid whistling.

Adjusting Volumes - There are 5 volume levels with each program Step:1 Lightly press the top (+) of the volume control to increase the volume. You should hear a beep indicating you have raised your volume by 1 level. You will hear voice prompts when you reach the maximum volume setting.

Cleaning Your Clarity Chat™ Step:1 Gently clean your Clarity Chat with a soft, dry towel or paper towel in conjunction with the provided cleaning tools. Never use cleaning products or solvents because they can damage your device.

Cleaning Your Clarity Chat™ Step:2 Always separate the tubing from the receiver before cleaning. Grasp the end of the thin tube that is attached to the receiver. Gently turn approximately 90 degrees.

Cleaning Your Clarity Chat™ Step:3 Pull to remove the tubing from the receiver.

Cleaning Your Clarity Chat™ Step:4 Pull to remove the dome tip from the tubing.

Cleaning Your Clarity Chat™ Step:5 The brush side of the cleaning tool is used to clean the microphone port and earpiece from earwax and debris.

Cleaning Your Clarity Chat™ Step:6 The wire end on the cleaning tool is for removing earwax and debris from the dome tips. Remove the dome tip from the thin tubing, insert the wire end of the cleaning tool, and twist in a circular motion. For optimal performance replace the dome tip every 3 months.

Cleaning Your Clarity Chat™ Step:7 The long thin wire is used to clean out any earwax or debris that may have accumulated in the thin tubing. For optimal performance replace the tubing every 3 months.

Domes Step:1 To Remove: Firmly grasp the dome and pull

Domes Step:2 To install: Line up the hole on the back of the dome with the tubing and press firmly until it is completely on the end of the tubing.

Adjusting Programs The program control allows you to choose between 4 program settings. By firmly pressing and holding the program control for 1 second, you advance the program setting as indicated by voice prompts. The voice prompt will let you know which program has been selected. The dome tip must be in your ear canal to hear the voice prompt. Use the program that sounds the best to you a majority of the time.
Program 1 Recommended program for all listening situations
Program 2 Recommended for noisy environments (restaurants or social settings)
Program 3 Recommended for quiet environments (1-on-1 conversations or watching TV)
Program 4 T-Coil – Recommended for clearer sound when using a telephone, cell phone, or induction loop system. (Example of potentially looped locations: Churches, Theaters, Concert Halls etc.)

7-10 Days usage
Clarity Chat uses a size 312 zinc air battery which last 7-10 days depending on usage. A voice prompt will warn when the battery needs to be replaced. To prolong battery life turn off the Chat when not in use. Try to keep batteries away from metal objects such as keys or coins because they can cause them to short circuit.
